There is a moment every September when the light turns golden, the breeze carries a little more bite and a favorite sweater suddenly feels exactly right. At 50th & France, that shift is more than a change in the weather. It is an invitation to slow down, wander into ours shops, grab a bite and enjoy one of the Twin Cities’ most charming neighborhood districts.
Straddling Edina and Minneapolis, 50th & France brings together stylish boutiques, specialty stores, fitness studios, over 20 restaurants, a lively plaza of free weekend events and the historic Edina Theatre brimming with the movies and film festivals you want to see.
The district’s 2026 lineup offers plenty of reasons to return. Fall Restaurant Week runs September 27 through October 1 with seasonal specials from 20 participating restaurants, while complimentary evening valet service is planned September 29 through October 1 from 5-8 pm thanks to Land Rover Richfield. Don’t miss the second Paris Flea Market Sunday September 25 from 9 am to 2 pm on the sidewalk off of France Ave between 50th & 51st! Curated by local business owner Daune Stinson of June, you won’t believe the over 28 small vendors popping up that will make you feel like you’re in Europe! Don’t forget to take advantage of those Fall Restaurant Week Deals while you work up an appetite at the Paris Flea! On October 2, Nolan Mains will light up with a special Night Market from 5-9 pm with local businesses and makers in the Plaza aglow and bustling with activities. And don’t miss Saturday, October 3 from 10 am to noon for our annual Fall Fest back in the Plaza with free family fun including pumpkin painting courtesy of Lunds, photo ops with our favorite llamas, art and crafts with our local North Star Art Club, face painting and activities thanks to local preschool sponsor Casa de Corazon, bluegrass music to dance to by the Rosie Daze Band thanks to Morries Auto Group, smoothies and coffee with Extract Juicery and then make a plan to enjoy lunch at one of our amazing local restaurants with kids menus!
October continues with the Twin Cities Film Fest at the Edina Theatre from October 15–24 with filmmaker Q&As and world premieres you don’t want to miss, followed by the Diwali Festival weekend celebration October 23-25 with live performances and a special kick off on October 23 from 6-8 pm on the Plaza. The district’s annual trick-or-treating falls on Halloween Saturday, October 31 from 11 am to 1 pm, so just pop inside our businesses with a Halloween window decal for a treat and stay for lunch and the Halloween Dog Paw-Rade with Chuck & Don’s starting at 1 to 2 pm along France Avenue to watch our furry friends get in on the act! Bonus: the Edina Theatre will be showing free screenings of Hotel Transylvania at 9:30 AM before Trick or Treating so make a day of it!
