"This painting, Welcome Migration, was painted in February of 2026. This piece was inspired by the Monarch butterfly and everything the Monarch symbolises to us. My work has always been inspired by the beauty of nature, often the parts of nature that need our protection, that need conservation. Welcome Migration emphasizes the beauty of the Monarch butterfly, their miraculous transformation and journey. I first learned about this incredible migration in elementary school, and have found inspiration and significance in it ever since. How incredible, that something so small, so delicate, can travel so far in hope of new life. The Monarch butterfly is a symbol of hope. The Monarch butterfly shows us the gift of migration and the beauty of migrants. This painting is an ode to the Monarch butterfly, and the beauty of everything it represents. We must always have hope, and this painting reminds us of that."
